Itinerary

Day 2

Marrakech – Zagoura – Lalla Kebira
Transfer from Marrakech (leaving at 8am) over the Tizi n Tichka mountain pass then down to the south face of the High Atlas into Ouarzazate for lunch. Continue to Agdez then down the Draa Valley passing by several ksours (fortified villages), some inhabited and some abandoned in ruins. There will be a stop in Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara Desert where once nomads set off to Timbuktu on a 52-day journey. Your cook will buy provisions here. Finally, continue driving to the dunes Lalla Kebira (Marabout, St. Kébira) for an overnight camp. You’ll be able to take a short walk around the oasis of small dunes at Lalla Kebira before turning in for the night.

Overnight in bivouac. 7-hour driving

Day 4

Oasis Foum Taqqat - Dunes Nesrate - Ksar Ait Isfoul – Camp
After breakfast, you’ll trek down to Draa valley through dates grove plantations to your lunch spot at the oasis of Nesrate. After lunch, there is a lovely walk through Berber villages along the valley to camp at Ksar Ait Isfoul.

Day 6

Dunes de Tidiri - Oasis and dunes Regabi - dunes Erg Lihoudi Camp
After breakfast, we head off for the highlight of this trek, walking through the dunes of Tidiri. Lunch will be just before you reach the Dunes of Regabi, and a further two hours of walking will get you to the final camp set on the dunes of Erg Lihoudi.

6-hour walking.

Day 1

Arrival To marrakech - Transfer to the Hotel
Arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your riad. The rest of the afternoon/evening is at your leisure to explore the exciting city of Marrakech.

Day 3

Lalla kébira - Beni Ali - Oasis Foum Taqqat
After breakfast, and taking up camp, the team will load the camels whilst you start the trek down the Draa valley in the direction of the Beni Ali oasis for lunch in the shade of the date palm trees. After lunch you will carry on to the wild Oasis of Foum beside the mountainous Jebel Bani, where you will camp overnight.

5-hour walking.

Day 5

Oasis and dunes Nesrate - Zaouiat Sidi Saleh - Dunes Tidiri - Camp
After breakfast, you’ll set off for another nice walking day through farming land and a small sand dune to get to the lunch spot near the Marabout of Sidi Saleh. After a delicious lunch, you’ll carry on to set camp near the dunes of Tidiri.

5-hour walking

Day 7

Dunes Erg Lihoudi - Village Mhamid or Oulad Driss - Return to Marrakech
Early breakfast, the crew will load the car, then you’ll start the long journey back to Marrakech with some rest stops on the way to enjoy the views and have lunch/drinks. Arrive back to Marrakech.

2 ½ hours walking plus an 8-hour, 430 km drive.

Day 1

I hereby acknowledge and agree to the following: I have been informed of and I understand the various aspects of AUTHENTIC MOROCCO TRAVEL (Company) travel experience (Program) I have selected including but not limited to, travel, itinerary, logistics, cancellation, and other Program related activities. I also understand that as a participant, I may sustain serious personal injuries, illness, property loss or damage, or even death as a consequence of the actions, inactions or negligence of myself or others, travel, weather conditions, and other risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time. I further understand and agree that any such injuries and consequences that I may sustain by any means are my sole responsibility. I understand there are potential risks inherent to my participation in the Program and these potential risks include but are not limited to: travel to and from the Program; local travel within the Program locale; consumption of food; weather conditions; language barriers; contagious diseases; terrorism; negligent first aid operations or procedures; and other risks that are unknown at this time. Although the Company has made every reasonable effort to assure my safety while participating in the Program, there are unavoidable risks. I understand that the Company is not in any way responsible for my wellbeing with respect to any travel destinations and /or participation in activities beyond those specifically required for the Program that I may choose to undertake before, during, or after the Program. I understand the Program does not offer travel protection or insurance as part of the offered travel package. I further understand the Company strongly recommends that all travelers obtain their own travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances such as trip cancellation, medical emergencies, or travel delays. I understand and agree that, although the Company will attempt to maintain the Program as described in its publications, it reserves the right to change the Program including, but not limited to, the accommodations, excursions, itinerary, or travel arrangements at any time and for any reason, with or without notice, and that the Company, or its employees and agents, shall not be responsible or liable for any expenses or losses that I may sustain because of these changes. I have no known physical or health-related reasons or problems that may preclude or restrict my participation in the Program and related activities, or I have disclosed to the Company any physical, mental, and/or emotional conditions or problems, permanent or temporary, including special dietary and medication needs, or the need for visual or auditory aids that might impair my ability to participate in the Program.
